So I’m sitting here staring at the colours and fancy lines on my computer. My trade is GBP/JPY and I just love to hate this one. Like most relationships we have history, some good, some bad. There are just a few minutes before the next 4hr candle opens and I decide it has to be going down so I’m bearish on this one. I click my mouse to sell and decide to watch it for 5 minutes. It starts to move in my favour and I get this warm feeling that today is going to be a good day. Suddenly, there is a slight change in direction! Why is it changing its mind? I must have made a mistake! So I click my mouse to close off my losing trade and then click again but this time, placing my trade in the opposite direction. Literally 10 seconds later, it starts to reverse again! I tell myself to remain calm and just wait this one out, but it continues to decline. I knew I was right in the first place! I must get back on board before I totally miss my point of entry.

So here I go again, clicking to exit, then clicking to enter the trade once again. But this time, I will stick it out no matter the outcome, I tell myself. For about 10 minutes the trade barely moves, it just stands there, mocking me. I need a distraction as I just can’t take this anymore so I take out my notepad and start writing. I love writing anyway. About 10 minutes later I come back to see the trade once again, moving in the opposite direction. Now somebody must be playing some sort of sick joke and its on me. So at this stage, and by that I mean at this very moment in time, I need to stop writing so I can click this mouse AGAIN and close off this trade before I blow my trading account.

Moral of the StoryThe amount of times you click is inversely proportional to your percentage wins as trader. The more you click, the more you lose.
